Pork Fried Rice-ish

This is a quick and easy go-to recipe that Greg and Olivia like to chef up, when they take a turn at cooking dinner. It helps to have the pork steaks already thawed – but you can thaw them relatively quickly, if you have a “defrost” setting on your microwave. Alternatively, you can run the packages of frozen pork-steaks under 70 degree water until they are thawed.

Ingredients

  • 2 pork steaks
  • Cauliflower rice – (we used frozen, from Costco)
  • Carrot – diced
  • Onion, half – diced

Sauce Ingredients:

  • White wine vinegar – 2 Tbs (rice vinegar would work too)
  • Fish Sauce – 1 Tbs
  • Toasted Sesame Oil – 2 Tbs
  • Sugar – 1 Tbs
  • Ginger, powdered – 1 tsp
  • Tamari – 2-3 Tbs
  • Garlic Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee – 2 Tbs

Directions

Thaw, rinse, and salt the pork steaks. On a hot pan, sear both sides of the pork steak in bacon grease, then place in a 375 degree oven for five minutes. Broil for another 5 minutes or until cooked through.

Meanwhile, microwave package of cauliflower rice for 5 minutes (or as long as package requires).

Sauté onion and carrot in the same searing pan (lower heat to simmer) until soft. Add cauliflower rice and then stir in sauce ingredients.

Thinly slice pork steaks and add to stir-fry for a one dish meal.
