Pork – Hamloaf 1 lb

A traditional Western Pennsylvania dish.  Half ground pork and half ground ham, this ‘Old School” dish, is a must for family events or a trip back to the old days!

Follow Evelyn’s Great Grandmother Rose Montgomery’s Family recipe:

2 lbs ham loaf, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups cracker crumbs, 1 cup milk, salt and pepper.

Mix all ingredients together and place in pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.  After ham loaf has baked for about 1/2 hour, pour sauce evenly over ham loaf.  During the last 1/2 hour, periodically take ham loaf out of oven and baste sauce from sides of loaf pan over the top of ham loaf.

Sauce :  Mix together – 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 tsp dry mustard, 1/4 cup vinegar or pineapple juice
