We’ve got a couple options for affordable, home-made bacon bits. We’ve got several sized packages of already ground bacon ends, or, if you desire “chunkier” bacon bits, you might prefer the Bacon Ends.
Ready to make you own bacon bits? Thaw your package of bacon (ends or ground) toss it in a cast iron skillet, and cook over medium high heat. The best method to perfectly cooking your bacon is to reduce the heat to low when the grease starts to foam. Otherwise, you may end up with half burnt, and half raw bacon. Drain on a paper towel, cool, and add to salads, twice baked potatoes, or scrambled eggs.
