As the Veggie Season winds down for 2024, we are shifting into Holiday mode. Historically, our food community wants celebration food and gifts, and its our time to shine. The elves (aka our kids) are crafting ornaments, cards and gifts, to support their ‘luxury living’ in 2025. Find their current creations at our farm market stands! Jen and Greg are checking the inventory lists (twice) and trying to fill as many freezers with pork whether you’ve been naughty or nice.
The most popular product last year was the Holiday Bundle which is enough pork and farm food for 3 holiday celebrations. This year, we are including a chicken, loin roast and ham slices as the main courses, with plenty of bacon, and sausage to fill in the sides. Other ingredients like sauerkraut and eggs are included too for a full farm experience!
Regrettably, we will not be selling Half Hogs. It’s great to have customers who are so dedicated to the pig that they order up an entire side. These folks have done more to encourage us to continue raising more animals than any other single factor (except maybe bacon), and we are grateful that they continue to heckle us and make us feel guilty for never raising enough pork to satisfy their demand. We are sorry to not have these available, but we are committing (yet again) to raising even more pork in 2025, especially to fill the deep freezers of our loyal following of families who need to stock up.
Chickens! The final birds of the year are flying to your table (right after you submit your order ;)… We dropped the price to $6/# so we can fill your freezers and shut down ours. We are already starting to think about 2025. These are the last birds of a 175 bird harvest, and we are excited about doing even more in 2025, especially with Farm Club being active, more people will be eager to learn to process and enjoy farm raised deliciousness.
FARM CLUB!! We’ve talked about it for years, our dream of Whole Diet CSA, integrating the customers into the vegetable production (for their own good!) and moving our farm into a food producing social club that rewards patrons with loaded pantries, confidence, skills and a years worth of food. Coffee Shops are becoming an expensive hobby, Brew pubs are likewise getting too booshie and expensive. Enter the Farm as your fam’s Third Space. Not only are there fields, but there’s mentorship and kitchen space to prep your harvest, coffee and wi-fi, animals to visit, picnics and community food to share, beer exchanges, camp fires, skill share classes, group celebrations and so much more.
