This Wednesday is the 16th week of our CSA (an even week).

Farm pick up on Wednesday 11 – 7, Northside (Allegheny Commons) on Friday 3 – 7, and Squirrel Hill (beacon/bartlette) on Sunday 9 – 1.

Don’t forget that you can place an order and we’ll bring it to the markets for you!

We had a great time with Jen Saffron and her staff from Spretzzatura. They cooked up scrumptious food from our farm and fed a lovely bunch of people a wonderful meal. We’re cooking up plans for a Spring Fling – so keep your eyes on the newsletter for a muddy spring feast here in March 2024 or so. We were so busy eating and socializing (what a great way to have fun without having to leave the farm!!) that I didn’t get any photos of the event!

Olivia was the official tour guide and made many trips to the barnyard, since the height of the entertainment was that we had forty….yes 40 piglets born, not even 24 hours earlier! Guests were able to hold day-old piglets and visit with the new Mamas in the barnyard.

We had a nice mix of the Spretzzatura fans and our Blackberry Meadows community – we were so proud to have new and familiar faces here at the farm. We both have a very strong common goal and that’s to bring the community together through food – so Saturday night was a huge success!!

The Big Squeeze

You still have an opportunity to come out to the farm, as next Saturday at 4 pm is our Fall Farm Party (or as it has so aptly been named – The Big Squeeze)! Come for the cider pressing (bring apples and jugs if you have some), hotdogs at the campfire, scavenger hunt, yard games, and campfire desserts! Oh… and maybe you’ll get to cuddle a piglet too!

RSVPS are appreciated!

Looking for more outlets!

Do you live in a neighborhood that has a corner grocery store? We’re looking to get some of our products into more local markets. If you have a favorite local store – let us know and we’ll reach out. It wouldn’t hurt if you stopped in and mentioned that you’d love it if you could get Blackberry Meadows stuff there too!
